ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF ART FOR THE ARTS
Mission Statement
The Museum of Art for the Arts was founded in 2008 as an international institution, and is dedicated to being the foremost art & image museum in the world.
Through the leadership of its Trustees and staff, the MofAA manifests this commitment by aquiring, preserving, and displaying an ongoing collection of superior quality. This collection reflects past, current, and future themes in the arts.
The MofAA provides access to as well as curatorial privileges to its members and benefactors through publicly curated exhibitions and provides for them exhibitions and events of preeminent intellectual merit.
To achieve its goals the MofAA recognizes:
- That the creation of images to represent concepts and the world around them originated at the very dawn of culture and continues today
- That imagery transcend national and cultural boundaries and involves all forms of visual expression
- That imagery is an ongoing series of open-ended arguments and counter-arguments that reflect the issues of the era
- That a wide and deep collection is important to historical preservation, and that no image should go unrecorded
- That well-curated and well-edited exhibitions are vital to demonstrate the most important effects art and imagery have on our civilization
In sum, The MofAA seeks to create a dialogue between the established and the avant-garde, the past and the present, in an environment that is responsive to the issues of contemporary culture, while being accessible to a public that ranges from the scholarly to the casually curious.
