Museum of Art for the Arts
Mythologies
Civilizations, cultures and subcultures — all have created for themselves fables and stories to explain the mysteries of the world around them; from the hunting tales of Lascaux to the personal mythology of Joseph Beuys. The MofAA presents more than a dozen works from its permanent collection in an exhibition meant to highlight the fundamental questions of human existence.

Near the French town of Montignac lies a network of caves covered in art by primitive human beings whose painted stories depict hunting tales and various animals — many of which were quite rare at the time. The paintings were made 16,000 years ago.
