Tes One
Tes One is a contemporary artist and graphic designer based out of Florida, and a member of the Thunderdog Collective. He blurs the line between graffiti art and graphic design, contemporary art and commercial pursuits. At the core is his passion for the art of design. Tes explores contrast --the integration of analog and digital, retro and modern, the photographic and the painterly. His paintings are done entirely by hand, inspired by photography.  His paintings may to the viewer at first seem like a digital creation, a trompe l'œil effect in many ways tied to Tes' graffiti roots. Graffiti, of course, always makes you look twice.

Contemporary portraiture is a dominant theme in Tes One's art. We invited Tes to explore the Corbis collection of music legends, and to use this work as the inspiration for a contemporary portrait of a music icon. Tes naturally gravitated towards a photography legend, Henry Diltz, who captured images of Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, and the Rolling Stones in the 1960's and 70's. The result is a fresh portrait of Jimi Hendrix, an icon whose music still resonates today with an entirely new audience.   Suggestive design elements of an amp and EQ are contrasted with pixels and digital equipment, a bridge of retro and modern, analog and digital.
